Mittagong Veterinary Hospital - in Partnership with Royal Canin and TerraCycle - Supporting See Eye Dogs and Reducing Landfill Positively!

We’re committed to recycling, that’s why we’ve been a dedicated TerraCycle recycling hub for Royal Canin since 2021!

Our vet hospital partners with Royal Canin Pet Food and TerraCycle in a FREE national recycling program; Taking non-recyclable pet food packaging and transforming it back into useful products, such as community/council park benches, dog Frisbees, and even plumbing pipes!

For every kilo of waste recycled through TerraCycle, Royal Canin will donate a dollar to Vision Australia for their Seeing Eye Dog program. We don’t earn anything from recycling, we just want to see non-recyclable waste diverted from our local landfill (Keep Australia Beautiful, People!) PLUS see Vision Australia Seeing Eye Dogs program supported. Any virtual ‘points’ earned from our recycling efforts are fully donated back towards Vision Australia. As of  March 2025, our vet hospital has recycled 100 kilograms!

You can watch more about the amazing process of recycling here:

We would appreciate it if you rinsed out the packaging before dropping off at our vet hospital.

ALL pet food brands of dry packaging and wet food pouches are accepted.
